EY TaxChat is an on-demand, mobile tax preparation service that combines the convenience of "do it yourself" (DIY) with the quality of a tax return prepared by EY professionals. EY TaxChat combines the ease of DIY tax software, the service of professional tax preparation and the clarity of fixed, transparent pricing. Best of all, you can take advantage of the EY TaxChat service without ever setting foot in an office!
Just answer some simple questions about last year to get started, such as: Did you have a job? Did you have a mortgage? Did you have charitable deductions? EY TaxChat will then give you a fixed fee quote for the tax preparation service, tell you exactly what documents you need to provide and connect you by chat with an EY tax professional in a fast and secure online environment.
You can upload shorter documents (such as your W-2 or 1099s) by snapping pictures of them with your phone, and you can upload longer documents (such as your past year’s tax return) using our web-based uploader (at documents.tax.chat). Once your preparer has all of the information needed, the return will be prepared and uploaded onto the app, along with filing instructions on how to e-file or submit your federal and state returns.
